The Community Foundation of Grand Forks, East Grand Forks and Region is a philanthropic organization with 501c3 non-profit status that promotes the betterment of people and institutions in the community through the development of permanent endowments.
The inception for a community foundation was formulated after the flood of 1997. Donations were pouring in to the community with no one entity being equipped to handle the process. The generosity of the Fargo/Moorhead Area Foundation provided a temporary home for the initial gifts that had been given.
Incorporated on November 21, 1997, and receiving a provision 501c3 status on January 18, 1998, the Community Foundation has become an integral component of the community and region.
Our primary goal is to nurture the philanthropic dreams of individuals and organizations today, and grow their legacy to the betterment of our region and beyond.
To manage and develop diverse endowments that generate funding to address the quality of life in our region.
