The Mission of the Women’s Fund is to provide ideas, energy and resources so that girls and women are empowered to achieve economic, social and political equality. The Women’s Fund, a fund of the community foundation, was founded in 2002 by women who had a desire to raise awareness of challenges, concerns and opportunities facing girls and women, support opportunities that build leadership skills and confidence among girls and women and to encourage women to become philanthropists.

The vision was a climate of equality and justice, activism and leadership. The desire was to make a difference through grant-making and fundraising, empowering individuals and organizations to address concerns affecting girls and women today and in the future.

The Women’s Fund is a $700,000 endowment fund at the Community Foundation. In 2014, the 50th grant was made to support its mission relating to women and girls. $130,000 has been awarded to date.

You can help the Women’s Fund by making a gift to help us reach our goal of $1 million! The Chambers Family Fund has provided a matching grant of $200,000.   We have $65,000 to raise to meet the match.  YOU can make a difference and double it!  PLUS, gifts of $5,000 or more may qualify for the 40% ND Endowment Tax Credit.
